Founded in 2002 by Ernest C. Baynard IV, Meridian Hill Strategies is a full service public affairs firm that provides both traditional lobbying, media consulting and grassroots services to its clients. Ernest C. Baynard IV is a veteran of the last six election cycles who has managed numerous media and public affairs campaigns for a diverse group of corporate and political clients. He has also served in several senior level positions over the past ten years in the White House and on Capitol Hill. Baynard serves as a guest lecturer on media and politics at the United States Military Academy and has also lectured at Georgetown University and Johns Hopkins University.

Meridian Hill Strategies works with some of the nationís top CEOs, industry groups and political leaders to create a powerful voice for them inside the Beltway and in the national media. Meridian Hill currently serves as the lead legislative and media consultant for several aviation, technology and financial services companies.

In 2007 and 2008 Meridian Hill has brought together national farm and rural organizations, Fortune 500 companies, leading industry associations, elected officials and small businesses from across the nation to educate Congress about their priorities and concerns as the House and Senate consider potential changes in the funding of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Collectively, these groups have played a significant role in shaping favorable legislation, including a bill passed by large majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in June 2007 and legislation that unanimously passed by the Senate Committee on Finance in October 2007. In 2006 Meridian Hill conducted a successful public affairs campaign in collaboration with Silicon Valley companies and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council (SBEC) to ease federal tax and regulatory burdens on small companies. The campaign has produced op-ed pieces that have been published in the San Jose Mercury News and the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

In 2006, Baynard has also worked to generate coverage from top media outlets including the Washington Post, AP, Reuters and CNN for the American Task Force for Lebanon (ATFL) to focus national media attention on humanitarian concerns in Lebanon during and after the military conflict in that country.

In 2004 and 2005, Meridian Hill was responsible for creating and managing, a national grassroots coalition of commodities, farm, manufacturing, labor and faith-based groups concerned about the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). Meridian Hill managed the day-to-day media and political operations and grassroots development of the coalition worked directly with the Democratic Leadership, Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle, and leading nonprofits and activists from across the nation. Baynard also made frequent appearances on nationally televised news programs including CNN, MSNBC and FOX News on behalf of the coalition.

In 2003, the firm managed and developed a successful national public affairs campaign on behalf of independent distributors of airline tickets as the Congress and the Department of Transportation set about revising its rules governing the multi-billion dollar airline ticket industry.
